A Shakespeare Twist
Stacy has been reading Romeo and Juliet in her English class. The other day she was given an assignment to write the letter that Tybalt sends to Romeo after Tybalt sees him at the Capulet's party. I think it is pretty interesting:
Dear Romeo,
Thou art an artless, boil-brained bladder. I am in a state of lightning-like rage. Thou snuckest into the Capulet party, and thou left unscathed. Thou art an abomination, you and all thy Montague-men alike! How did thoust find out about this party? Thou art a fool to think thoust could be welcomed. I desire to meet with thee, Romeo, and to smite thee until thou art no more. Thou shalt be pleading for my mercy upon our meeting. So take care of thy lumpish, half-faced wagtail, for when we meet again thou wilt have it no more.
Thy enemy forever,
Tybalt

A Fun Day at Ma's House
On Saturday afternoon, we watched Kate and Claire while Maria and Tim toured the hospital. The girls spent most of the time outside playing with the dog and Stacy. Peanut has finally learned to not be afraid of them. He really warmed up to Katelyn and even sat when she commanded him to. Usually he is very picky about who he chooses to obey! They also had a lot of fun making huge rock collections.

Sleepover at Ma's House
Kate came to Ma's house for her first sleepover. It started with a nighttime swim with Stacy. The only thing that got her out of the pool at 9:00 p.m. was the promise of popcorn and a movie.
Stacy built her a tent in the living room and they were planning on sleeping in it. But after two bowls of popcorn and all of Peter Pan, Kate decided it wasn't comfortable. So we got out the air bed, but she still wasn't sleepy. So I put in a Pooh Bear movie and went to bed. She went to sleep sometime after midnight.Monday, July 26, 2010

Eighth Grade Awards Ceremony; Congratulations Stacy!
Well, the school year is coming to an end and we can't believe that Stacy is finishing the eighth grade. It seems like she just started at Brown Jr. High and now we're looking at high school in the fall. We went to an awards ceremony at the school tonight. Stacy received the art award, a citizenship award for three years of outstanding citizenship, the President's award for academic excellence, and a plaque for three years straight As. We are so proud of her and happy that she is a part of our family. Way to go Stacy!!!!!
